In 2009, John founded Tri Global Energy, the leading wind energy developer in Texas and one of the top two in the U.S. Tri Global Energy’s proprietary business model, called the Wind Force Plan, allows landowners to become part of a community wind project. It provides a unique opportunity for the community to retain a portion of the wind project, keeping more of the economic advantages in the local community.
John was Co-founder and Managing Partner of Billingsley, Johnson Kubica & Co., a large regional Texas CPA firm that was later merged into Arthur Young & Company. Following that, he acquired controlling interest in the Western State Bank of Midland, where he served as Chairman of the Board and President for six years. John’s diverse experience also includes serving as owner/president of an oil and gas exploration company, owner/president of a sulfur recovery plant, owner/president of a commercial real estate development company, owner/operator of two commercial cattle ranches and the owner/President/CEO of two middle-market manufacturing companies, each with over 250 employees.
John graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a major in accounting. He has been recognized by the U.S. Congress for his contribution to renewable energy development and selected by the Dallas Business Journal for the Who’s Who in Energy in North Texas in 2014-2016.
